This house stood on the east side of the High Street, where Monarch's Way now branches off. It was owned by the County Council and used as a nursery school. It was a typical 18th Century Gentlemans house of which several examples survive in the area.
Spital Houses

These Almshouses stood on the east side of the High Street, south of the Cross, where the M25 passes under the road. Founded in 1600 they later became part of the combined Beamont Charity. The visible building was errected in 1908, but toilets and bathrooms were added to the rear in the 1960's.
