- 1290 - bad fire at Nunnery, when there were 13 nuns
- 1294 - Eleanor Cross built at Waltham Cross

- 1253 - Richard de Boxe granted charter for
weekly Thursday Market
- 1336 - St Katherine's Chapel built by
William de la Marche
- 1443 - Surviving gatehouse of Rye House built

- 1536 - Cheshunt Nunnery disolved with 4 nuns.
- 1564 - Theobalds bought by William Cecil
- 1587 - Elizabeth I spends a month at Theobalds
- 1607 - King James swaps Hatfield Palace for Theobalds
- 1620 - Theobalds park wall begun
took 4 years for whole 10 miles
- 1625 - James I dies at Theobalds on 25th March
- 1640 - Dewhurst Free School founded.
- 1675 - Darces manor sold to Cecil family
- 1694 - Darces manor passes to Shaw family
for 100 years

- 1544 - Broxbournebury Manor bought by John Cock
- 1560 - Hoddesdon granted St Peter's 3 day fair

- 1622 - Rawdon House, High Street built
- 1683 - Attempt to assassinate Charles II at Rye House

- 1928 - Christie's Brewery closed.

- 1935 - Barclay Park given to Hoddesdon by Barclay family.
- Nissen Buildings Ltd, at Rye House, develop their hut.
- 1936 - New Council Offices opened in Hoddesdon
- Lowewood House given to Hoddesdon.
- 1937 - Public Library opened in Lowewood House.
- 1904 - New River Company taken over by Metropolitan Water Board
- 1924 - Cambridge Arterial Road opened to Turnford - single carriageway
- 1930 - Green Line Hertford - Guildford service started.
- 1935 - Broxbourne & Wormley become part of Hoddesdon Urban District
